Polycystic ovary syndrome - symptoms

What symptoms can it cause?
The common symptoms of PCOS are as follows:

Period problems
In PCOS, periods can be either:

  • absent
  • infrequent
  • irregular
  • or heavy

Androgenic symptoms
High levels of the hormone testosterone can lead to acne, excess hair or even male-pattern baldness.

Infertility
PCOS stops ovulation so women with PCOS sometimes have difficulty falling pregnant. Particularly if periods don't come every month.

Obesity
PCOS can make you overweight and make losing weight more difficult.
